Long weekend full of indulgences and living life? Same here. I think most people put their “diets” and “clean eating” to the side when it comes to the weekend and that’s okay. This is why I do my best to never skip a Monday workout.
Starting out the week on a high note is super important mentally. It sets the tone for the rest of the week. I also just FEEL better if I work out on a Monday. I feel accomplished and think to myself, “if I can workout on a Monday, I can work out any other day of the week.”
You know the mentality of screw it? The same mentality that says, “well, since I ate like crap at breakfast I might as well throw it all away?” I know I am not alone in this. We all have that sense of throwing in the towel, especially on the weekend. Working out on Monday helps to curb this negative thinking and prevents me from getting into a rut.
So get out there! Get moving! I ran 3.2 miles on the treadmill on Sunday followed by a nice circuit and wrapped up my workout in 30 minutes. 30 MINUTES! That’s really all it takes. Don’t get stuck in a rut either eating or exercise. Pack your lunch, drink some extra water, smile a bit more, and enjoy the sunshine!
Set yourself up for success and not failure. Stick to whatever goal you have set for yourself. A Monday is a perfect way to start!
Question of the Day:
Do you ever skip Monday?
