Scenes from the weekend

Happy snow day to me and Tuesday to you! I woke up this morning to a call from my school district telling me that school was cancelled due to the winter weather advisory and impending ice storm. That ice storm still has yet to show up. Now, I’m not complaining about a day off but I thinkkkkk we could have gotten away with a delayed opening.

What does this mean? It means I slept in, made a nice breakfast for myself, and parked my ass on the couch for a morning of DVR and movies (hence this late post). Pure bliss.

I am excited to share with you a post sponsored by coming up this Friday, and my Motivational Monday’s are getting a lot of great feedback! Keep the comments coming and critique.

Today’s post: scenes from my weekend. The weekend was filled with football and food.

My mom came to my house after school to help me shop for my husband and I’s annual Super Bowl party. My husband had a basketball game so my mom and I went to Cure restaurant to have some cocktails and an appetizer. My mom went with a Winter cider sangria and I went with a variation on a Moscow mule. Best decision ever. We ended up sharing an appetizer of shrimp and grits. Holy yum!

Husband’s team won (yay!) and our families went out to dinner after the game. Had a bison burger with no bun, bbq sauce and avocado, and sweet potato fries.

Okay. So I never buy shirts online but I snagged this one and I LOVE it. It pretty much sums me up in a statement. My lifting name, bestowed upon me by my lifting friends, is Ghetto Bird. I proudly rep that name and live to lift to gangster rap. The more swears, the better for me. My husband and I usually go spinning on Saturday’s together because he isn’t into the workouts I do. We got to the gym and the class was totally filled and our favorite teacher wasn’t there. WOMP WOMP. We contemplated just not going, but we ended up going to the gym where he works and doing this workout I put together for us. Needless to say, it was a hit. Even my husband said that he was feeling it afterward. As a thank you to him for making me work out, I took him to our favorite local bakery, Truffles, and I had a yogurt parfait with tea. The girls at the counter know me as the one person who comes in ordering this and only this. BUT THEIR GRANOLA THO… SO GOOD!

Saturday afternoon was spent scouting basketball games with my husband and trying out a new restaurant. Union Tavern was perfection. The waffle fries were amazing and my maple chicken wrap was delicious! Plus, this:

This quote is everything. If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you should! I just had to write about this quote and it still speaks to me. Read my caption for my thoughts on this quote: screenshot_2017-02-07-13-06-45.png

Not too many photos from my Sunday because I didn’t want to ruin my Super Bowl party by sitting on my phone and annoying people to take pictures. First one was taken post-workout after BodyRoc Fit Lab. I headed to the grocery store to do some shopping and the place was packed. Who was the idiot who saved her shopping for the week until Sunday of the Super Bowl? This chick. Got home, helped my husband clean the house and threw in my chili in the crock pot.

Sunday night we had our family and friends over to enjoy the game. I am a Giants fan and husband is a Broncos guy so we didn’t have any real conviction either way. We live in New England so I suppose the Patriots win is better. I was really ALL about the half time show and the bacon wrapped dates I made. Lady Gaga and my dates SLAYED.

I hope everyone has a great rest of their Tuesday. It’s looking like Thursday snow again so we may have a (real) snow day this time! Stay tuned for more workouts, giveaways to and American Nutrition Center in Avon, CT,  and fitness/life journey inspiration.
